WEBSITE DESIGN: Three Cornerstones to Developing Your Website

A Website is a business tool that must deliver results. However, a great looking website that serves your business and your web visitors requires thought and planning, otherwise it's unlikely to be the success you'd imagined.

»Your Business Strategy

A business plan forms the cornerstone of any business; you'd never think of investing in a house build without drawings of the final result and a plan of how you will fund it and organise the build.
However, there are many businesses who've had websites designed around a single idea, in isolation of any long term thinking. If the website then actually makes it off the drawing board onto the internet, inevitably it's not long before the business owner starts to complain that their site is not delivering the results they need.

At Chromaforge, the first thing we do is walk through your business plan to get a clear understanding of your business aims and objectives. We can then advise you of any areas that we think require clarification.
We then run through a series of questions aimed specifically at aligning your business plan with how you want your website to serve your business including general advice on how to populate your site with your content.

If you prefer, we can offer an additional service of producing your website content for you.

»Your Marketing Strategy

Without marketing, nobody will know that your business exists, and you will receive few visitors to your new website. As part of our walk though your business plan, Chromaforge can help you create and implement a successful strategy that will help drive visitors to your website.
Typically, this would include;

  • Offering advice on a holistic marketing approach for your website
  • Optimise your website for search engines to increase your chances of being found

»Your Branding Strategy

There's often much confusion between a Logo and Brand. Here's our mini guide as to how they work together;

The LOGO: The word 'logo' comes from Greek and means 'word' or 'speech', and in the same way the ancient Greeks used a pictogram to visualise words, we use a logo as the mark of a company or person. This can be a simple typeface or a combination of type and symbol that together form a trademark, making us recognise or identify a brand.

The BRAND: The brand is a much bigger entity than either a logo or the design. The brand is the sum of your customer's perception of your product or service.
In other words, a brand is how people think and feel about your product or service, the impression it leaves with them.
A logo can be used to help customers recognize a brand, but is not required for a brand to be effective.

Chromaforge offers a professional logo identity design service. Along with your business plan, we discuss what your business means to you from an 'emotional' perspective. We then sketch up a number of ideas for your consideration. When these are distilled down, we create the graphic image which is itself honed down until you are completely happy.
